| Silicon Graphics
The Silicon Graphics / North Charleston site is a 500,000 sq. ft., 4-building campus
located in Mountain View, CA.
This campus, which was designed by Studios Architects, is the 15th major project ACCO has
undertaken for Silicon Graphics (SGI) over the past eight years, in addition to the numerous
ongoing remodels and tenant improvement projects throughout the existing campus. ACCO
worked on a design-assist basis for the core HVAC work and on a design-build basis for the
tenant improvements.
SGI is a manufacturer of main frame computers and graphics (3D) software. They have been involved in
computer-generated graphics for several major motion pictures including Jurassic Park.
This campus project consists of two 150,000 sq. ft., 2-story buildings and two 100,000 sq. ft., 3-story
buildings.
The HVAC system installed by ACCO consists of rooftop package VAV units with variable speed
drives. A variable volume hot water heat system serves all the major office areas. The 24-hour
computer labs are served by a separate chilled water system distributed to above-ceiling fan coil units
with a total capacity of 660 tons.
