Nineteen ninety-nine started a major three-year renovation of the historical
nob-hill hotel in San Francisco. The design-build/design-assist project encompasses
all aspects of the existing main public areas, including the venerable Tonga Room
and all guest rooms, which were completely remodeled and upgraded to four-star
status.
Part of ACCO’s scope was the overhaul of the buildings central plant, including a 500-ton
centrifugal chiller, 600-ton absorption chiller, and matching cooling towers. All equipment
included variable frequency drives (VFD)and DDC controls by Automated Logic/ACCO.
