| USC PED Central Plant
ACCO acted as the prime contractor for this 2,100 ton central plant on the USC
campus. This new chilled water plant is located in the basement of the original
Physical Education Building on campus. This plant supplies chilled water to a major
part of this large university located in central Los Angeles.
There were several challenges to complete this project, including excavating
a 35’ x 35’ x 25’ hole to allow setting the chillers in the basement.
The project was started immediately following the June 2000 commencement
and this new plant was in operation for the Fall 2000 school year - a 2 ½ month construction
schedule.
