b'ACCO Goes to HollywoodAwarded $64 Million Ranch Stages and Studios ProjectBy Hector AguilarIn August 2023, ACCO was awarded a $64 million contract for the Ranch Stages and Studios project. This project, located in Burbank, CA, is the result of an increasing demand for production space for new television shows and movies. In July 2021, the state approved a bill, SB 144, that included $150 million towards sound stage production anda $180 million increase toward the current filmand television tax incentive already in place.This increased the demand for production stages. The project will be managed by Sam Halstead,KRISMAR CONSTRUCTION SELECTED ACCO BECAUSE THEY Senior Project Manager, with assistance fromKNEW THE CHALLENGES THAT A LARGE PROJECT LIKE THIS WOULD POSE AND WANTED A MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR Sheet Metal General Foreperson Greg GauthierTHAT COULD SUCCESSFULLY MANAGE THOSE CHALLENGES.and Piping General Foreperson Mike Hernandez. ACCO is expected to install a 950-ton central plant for the office building, 42 air-cooled package units to serve the sound stages and production support buildings and 36 special effects exhaust fans. ACCO had previously impressed Krismar Construction, the general contractor, and owner, Worthe Real Estate Group, on a $34.7 million project called Project Blue Sky. This project was a great success and highlighted ACCOs industry knowledge and ability to guide a tight schedule to completion. Halstead also credits the Engineering department for its help in securing the project. ACCO WILL BE INSTALLING A 950-TON CENTRAL PLANT FOR THE OFFICE BUILDING FOR THE RANCH STAGES AND STUDIOS PROJECT.Krismar Construction was aware of the challenges of a large project like the RanchA big thanks to our Engineering team in Pasadena Stages and Studios and wanted to ensure theyfor helping put together a healthy list of value had a mechanical contractor they were confidentengineering that ultimately landed us the job, would get the job done.
