UCI Medical Center Building 31 underwent a full upgrade of the boiler equipment and piping systems along with seismic upgrades. This required highly critical shutdowns as there could not be an impact to the hospital. Systems included ammonia lines, high-pressure steam, NH3 purge lines, and large diameter exhaust.
