ACCO Engineered Systems Expands its Manufacturing Capacity with the Largest Sheet Metal and Piping Fabrication Shop in Nevada

RENO, NEVADA – JULY 24, 2024 – ACCO Engineered Systems (ACCO), the largest mechanical contractor in the Western United States, recently completed its move into its new combined sheet metal and mechanical piping fabrication facility and commercial office in Sparks, NV.

With 76,700 square feet of shop and office space, ACCO’s new Reno/Sparks facility at 295 Lillard Drive becomes the third largest fabrication facility in the company’s footprint spanning the Western United States. It is also the largest of its kind in Nevada. This move positions ACCO to be the local leader for the design, fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems throughout Northern Nevada.

“This facility significantly enhances our capabilities and presence in the area,” said Ryan Novacek, Sales Manager, ACCO Engineered Systems. “This state-of-the-art shop allows ACCO to continue the growth we have seen here in Reno/Sparks over the past five years. This expansion boosts our productivity, allows us to grow our Reno/Sparks-based team and take on additional projects to provide our customers with world-class mechanical systems. When we moved our fabrication teams into the new space, we significantly increased our headcount with experienced union sheet metal workers and pipefitters.”

In 1975, ACCO established a branch office in Reno as one of its first geographic expansions in the company’s long history. ACCO’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) acquired two respected Reno/Sparks mechanical firms in 2019 after identifying Northern Nevada as a strategic growth market. Over the past five years, the company has built a growing team of local leaders, project managers and tradespeople with deep ties to Northern Nevada.

“As an ESOP, we want to be known as a company that invests extraordinarily wisely in our company in both people and the tools to succeed,” said Gregg Holbrook, Senior Vice President, Construction. “The decision to invest heavily in this facility expansion was made because of a strong belief that the market was emerging, the facility was necessary to capture the market and we had solid local leadership to carry out the commitment.”
